Climate Warriors,
😮 We’re flabbergasted. Running the numbers today, we found 2,000+ climate warriors came together IRL in 3 cities and 2 continents over 2 weeks. including 4,000+ RSVPs for the NYCW extravaganza on 9/18. Holy macaroni.
💤 We’re catching our breath here at CTC HQ before beginning the planning process for an even bigger and better 2024.
📝 Here are a few takeaways from our September to remember:
⚡️ We were just flat out re-energized by all of the climate warriors—those who believe humanity can solve the problem—who joined us IRL for jolts of optimism amidst the incessant waves of negativity surrounding climate change—after all, what other choice do we have?
🗽 The Tri-State Area is giving the Bay Area a run for its money. Wandering around Newlab was like being in the Wonka Chocolate Factory for hard tech nerds such as ourselves. SOSV recently opened a 25,000 sqft office, lab, and event space and HAX opened a similar 35,000 sqft facility in Newark. Tri-State Area—we see you.
🇬🇧 London is on fire! We lost count of the number of people we met over 72 hours who recently moved to London to open an office. The energy is palpable and the difference is striking compared to when we held an event across the pond 15 months ago. i.e. the climate tech innovation mindset and infrastructure is going global.
🍀 Boston has so many brilliant minds. We popped by Activate’s Boston happy hour and met so many badass entrepreneurs. We learned MIT + Harvard are now working more closely together on climate tech and we can’t wait to do something EPIC with you all next year.
💸 CTC Fund I made it’s 8th and 9th investments. The 8th, into Scalvy, was led by Azolla Ventures and we’re excited to announce the 9th once they’re ready!
What’s to come:
☕️ We’re turning our attention to the release of Climate Tech Coffee—a shorter form version of the Cocktails podcast—which will only be available to Substack subscribers. We’re planning on producing more exclusive content for our paid subscribers and finding fun ways we can reward you going forward for supporting everything we do here.
